Event Details

Ordinary things can capture extraordinary stories. Your child’s beloved baby blanket. The salad bowl used by your mother every night at dinner. The penknife attached to your side wherever you go.

The things we hold dear are more than objects; they are vessels for our stories, memories and experiences. The First Person Museum is a place to share the things and stories that have personal meaning for you.

This is YOUR museum! Share a story about your meaningful object at a FREE storytelling event in August.

First Person Museum StoryCircle
Wednesday, August 4th
6:00pm-8:00pm
728 S. Broad St.

All objects and stories are then invited to become a part of the live museum at the Painted Bride Art Center. The stories behind the shared objects will be displayed in a multi-media exhibit incorporating audio, video, writing and photography as part of the First Person Festival of Memoir and Documentary Art (November 8-14, 2010). The exhibit will remain at the Painted Bride Art Center till December 19th, 2010.

A dedicated First Person Museum website will launch in the fall. Till then, learn more at http://museum.firstpersonarts.org.
